Tom Markert is a global executive, board director, elected official, and author with more than 30 years of leadership experience across corporate, entrepreneurial, and public sectors.

He has held senior leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Citi, Ipsos, Nielsen, and Office Depot, and has served in six CEO roles as well as CMO and CSO positions. Over the course of his career, he has:

  • Led global teams across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific
  • Directed full P&L operations
  • Repositioned brands and restored organizations to sustainable growth
  • Executed acquisitions and divestitures
  • Led large-scale transformation initiatives
  • Operated across B2C, B2B, B2G, retail, and e-commerce sectors

Internationally, Markert has held leadership roles in Sydney, Toronto, London, and New York, developing deep cross-cultural fluency and global governance expertise.

Entrepreneurially, he co-owned and led the turnaround of the Sydney Kings basketball franchise, guiding the team from bankruptcy to profitability and two league championships before a successful sale.
